Methyl Salicylate
Methyl Salicylate is the methyl ester of salicylic acid, with a characteristic wintergreen-like odour. It occurs naturally in wintergreen oil and sweet birch and is used in flavouring, as a topical analgesic in rubefacient preparations, and as a fragrance ingredient.
